Cousin visit

Audrey and Kate got to hang out this weekend with their cousins Elsa and Liam, who were in town for Nana's 90th birthday party and staying next door at the "Hotel Taylor." They fit in a trip to Jim and Patty's and lots of playtime.

Auction art

Mama and Dada went to the Alameda Elementary auction this evening, where they got to see the finished products of Audrey and Kate's class auction projects.

Take Your Kid to Work Day

Today was Take Your Child to Work Day, so Audrey and Kate spent a couple of hours sampling office life this morning. Audrey went with Mama to her office. They commuted together on the bus and MAX, and the big activity was helping Mama run a webinar. Kate drove in to work with Dada, where she helped him organize and decorate his workspace, make copies, and try out the new whiteboard walls. A main highlight for both girls were the treats that were in and around the offices: a big coffee shop muffin for Audrey and abundant supplies of free and vending-machine candy for Kate. They met up at Mama's office and then headed to school for the afternoon.

Another communion class

Audrey and Kate had one more First Communion class this evening. This time, they practiced the two ways of receiving the bread and wine, and also painted clay chalices.

Mosier Plateau hike

Audrey and Kate headed out on I-84 today for some recreation in the nice weather. After stopping for lunch in Hood River at the Full Sail brewery and walking around the town for a bit, they headed further east for a short hike on the Mosier Plateau Trail. They didn't last too long on the hike, as it was mostly uphill and the weather was hotter than was expected, but they did find a waterfall to cool off in, as well as some pretty wildflowers and a pioneer cemetery. They had some ice cream from a minimart and then headed home.

Communion class

Audrey and Kate are taking First Communion classes at their church. Tonight they helped make the bread that will be used at their First Communion on May 3.

Seat upgrade

Kate ditched her carseat today for a new booster seat with two cup-holders. She wanted to try it out right away, and so talked Dada into taking it for a test drive around the block.

Making the case for a kitty

Audrey and Kate are lobbying to get a cat; two, actually. Kate took to the laptop this evening to articulate her case. Her note reads: "I need a cat, Mom. I will feed it. Please. I will scoop up the poop. Please. I do not need your help. I will care [for it]. Please. I will make [my] bed by myself. Please. Write back. From Kate."

Easter 2015

Audrey and Kate had a full day of Easter today. It began with Easter baskets and an egg hunt at their house, followed by church, a rushed pancake breakfast, and another egg hunt on the church lawn with cousins Lily and Cora. Then everyone headed back to Lily and Cora's house for an Easter brunch with GG and Michael and Grandpa Dave and Judy. After a little recreation and follow-up mission for the Beanie Boo Rescue Team at Archbishop Howard, Audrey and Kate headed to Honey and Gpa's for another egg hunt, dinner, and gifts from the Easter Bunny.
